Hello, Kansas City! Welcome back to the Red Kingdom Cleaning Lee’s Summit Home Cleaning Service Podcast. We are so glad you’ve joined us to talk more about our Lee’s Summit house cleaning services. Today we’re going to be breaking down what does it look like to have a house cleaner in Lee’s Summit.
Number one, how often should you clean your house to keep it healthy? Now that kind of depends on the family. If you have pets, if you have children, all those things can affect how often you need to clean. Also, are you good at, on a daily basis, refreshing your home? Do you put away all the groceries when they come in? Do you put away Amazon packages when they come in? Do you wipe down the counters when your husband shaves? Does he clean the sink? Things like that can also affect the cleanliness of your home.
The more it builds up, the longer it’ll take to do more of a clean. So for us, we offer a bi-weekly, which is every other week, or we offer a monthly service. You can choose either one.
Some people might even do every other month, whatever works for them. Some people just do a one-time deep clean, but more often than not, once we do a deep clean, people want to maintain it and keep it clean moving forward, so that way things just don’t build up. Because there’s certain things that, on a daily basis, it’s hard to clean.
You got toilets, and kitchens, and bedrooms, and dusting, and fans, and things like that, that on a daily basis, you really don’t want to have to take care of, but we’re here to help take care of it for you. Number two, what service is included in a standard house cleaning service? Number one, all dusting of the home. We take care of the ceiling fan, pictures, furniture in the home.
All those things are things that come with a standard cleaning. Also, a wipe down of the kitchen and the bathroom. Those are included.
We don’t normally include the inside the microwave, refrigerator, oven. Those are more of a deep clean, but you can talk to us and we can come out with a system if that’s something that’s really important to you. We can also make beds if that is something that is also important to you.
Some people like it. Some people don’t particularly care for it or don’t really want it. If you have certain things in your house that I don’t really use this guest bedroom very often, but I would like it refreshed when a guest comes, things like that.
We can have that on certain rotations if you text us. We can add that on for a service. Basically, it’s a general cleaning of your home when it’s a maintenance clean.
A deep clean would be a different story. We literally touch basically every surface in your home. The door frames, the trims, the windows, the blinds, things like that are more cleaned thoroughly.
Number three, what’s the difference between a deep clean and a regular clean? On a deep clean, we literally touch every surface in the home. We touch doors and baseboards and inside the oven, inside the fridge, all the lights. There’s just an extra level of depth.
For those, we can go anywhere from four cleaners for four hours or five hours or six hours. It just depends on the size of the home, but also the cleanliness of the home when we get it. A deep clean is very similar to a move-in, move-out clean.
The only difference is on move-in, move-out cleans, they’re 100% empty. There’s just more surface we can access. We don’t move any furniture when we do a deep clean.
We don’t pull out the refrigerator or anything like that. There’s just things that can happen if you do that, like scratches on the floor, things like that. We don’t move furniture.
On a move-in, move-out clean, there’s just no furniture. You have more access to all the baseboards in the house, things that would usually be trapped under furniture for a while. Number four, how long does it take to professionally clean a house? Now, again, that just depends on the cleanliness of the home.
If a home is pretty fairly clean, it can take two cleaners an hour and a half, depending on the size of the home. If the home is fairly dirty, it can take longer, which will obviously up the cost of the house. It all just depends on your home in general.
How much does house cleaning cost in Lee-Summit, Missouri? Now, if you’re looking for a Lee-Summit home cleaning service, we base it on a couple of different factors. We base it on the size of your home. That’s a big deal.
If you have a 1,200 square foot home, it’s very different from a 5,500 square foot home. Also, the areas that you actually touch. Some people have a house that they never use the basement or they never use the upstairs.
That could also change the price of the home because you don’t have to clean as much. If somebody cleans in between cleans, that can also help over time, just because it would take our cleaners less time, which would cost less. It can range anywhere between about $200, $150, depending on the size of the home, to we have some that are $700 because the house is quite large.
We have to send a full team and it takes many hours, so even just on a regular clean. Move in, move out cleans are typically at a base of 500, 600, but can go up to about $1,000, depending on the size of your home, the cleanliness of your home, what you’re looking for, too. We also base it on what is the homeowner looking for in having their house cleaned.
Is hiring a house cleaner worth it? I personally, we own the company and I have our team come out and clean our house. I’m a really big fan of that. Our lives are extremely busy.
We own a couple different businesses, very involved in our family, so we have our house cleaned every other week, personally. It honestly brings a ton of peace and joy into our home, into our marriage. It also maintains the cleanliness of our home.
There are certain areas like I clean on a daily basis or write down to the kitchen and things like that, but I don’t go full depth on certain areas. It also makes our house clean long-term. It maintains it really well.
It makes sure that everything runs smoothly. I personally think yes. That’s something that I personally do.
Number seven, what should I do before a cleaning service arrives? If you’re wanting to get your house cleaned as a Lee Summit house cleaning service, the cleaner the house is when we arrive, the better it’ll look when we leave. If your house is hard to access, if there’s things all over the floor, it’d be really hard for our team to come in and sweep the floor. They’ll have to move around things or wipe down the counters.
If there’s things all over the counters, we can’t access everything then. The more clean the house is by the time we arrive, not even clean, but just picked up so we can access the floors and the counters. The easier it is to maintain it when we leave, the better the clean even is, things like that.
I would pick up before we arrive, make sure everything’s ready to go, especially move in, move out, not move out, a deep clean. We ask that anything that you would like to be cleaned, that the floor is clear, the counters are clear, especially the kitchen so we can access every part of the house. If we’re having to move things out of the way, it just makes the clean a lot more difficult to maintain.
Number eight, how should I maintain a clean house between cleaning professional cleaning? It all depends on the frequency of your clean and also what’s going on at your home. If you have dogs and kids, you’ll probably have to pick up more in between. We have dogs and we have couch cushions, so I, once a week, clean those.
We have a lot of dog hair, so I clean our sheets once a week, and I clean our comforter once a week just because they’re around. Those two things can be fairly dirty, and so I want to maintain it. I personally make sure those are clean on a regular basis.
Between cleans, if you’re doing a bi-weekly, which means we’re coming out every week, just making sure that it’s to your liking. The hard-to-reach things are cleaned for you. You don’t want to have to scrub your shower glass or your tub or your toilet, but maintaining your kitchen, making sure the dishes are put away, making sure if there’s a spill in the kitchen, that’s picked up.
That’s the extent of your cleaning, and that’s all to your liking and how you do your life. What are the most commonly missed areas when cleaning a house? I’d say, I mean, this question is asking for just the general person. I would say for me, personally, before it was tubs.
I just kind of do a general rinse down, but there’s certain things that they get. I’ve got these racks in the shower for all of the different shower tools, shampoo, conditioner, things like that, and I’ve got bars of soap, and it’s got shelves. It’s got clean it, put it back in, and I never thought to clean that.
So, when I first went to go use the shower to clean my shower, I was like, oh my gosh, that is sparkly white. I would never even thought to clean that. Fans are another one.
I’m very particular about my home. I never once cleaned the ceiling fan. So, those are two big ones.
Also, there’s just things like in the kitchen, I would do a general wipe down, but I wouldn’t scour the stovetop, making sure that’s clean, or there’s just a level of depth that they took care of that I hadn’t prior.
